Theatrical Director Playwright, Writer Creative Artist Advisor for the Arts

I submitted a poem, and it was selected as one to be part of the Eat Local, Read Local Event for the City of Redmond, Washington. On September 18, I was asked to read it at the Redmond Art Walk.
Reflecting
- By Vicki Walch
The table was littered
Crumpled napkin, fork, crumbs
A water ring left behind from the absent glass
Reflecting the raindrops on the window
Reflecting the damp eyes
Of the one who sat… opposite the empty chair
May I join you? Buy you a cup of…
Coffee… spoken in unison
Whisps of a laugh shared, smiles mirrored
Reflecting the sunbreaks within
Reflecting the hunger for companionship
The response was delicious… Only if I can buy dessert.

This piece is a 24 x 36 acrylic on canvas titled "Follow Me". It hangs in my Washington home. It is part of a collection of pieces that I keep adding to.
The collection includes acrylics and watercolor artwork that hang in my homes.

For the past three years I have been collaborating with a composer/writer to create a new musical. This was a new experience for me. Although I have written several comedy/dramas and several faith-driven pieces, along with poetry, and lyrics for songs I have never written the book/script for a musical. I have also never collaborated on written material. It has been a learning experience. The first read-through / sing-through will be a private invitation only event in November 2025. I will keep you apprised of the progress.

Every year my husband and I throw a huge Halloween party. This year I painted eight new pieces to add to my Halloween collection that augments the plentiful decorations. The pieces ranged in sizes of 18 x 24 to 12 x 16 and were painted in acrylic on canvas and watercolor on hot press paper.

My 7-year-old granddaughter has been instrumental in my efforts to write a series of stories about her and our "Haunted Mansion" that we call home. This is the third year she has participated in the decorating for the party, and I write stories and add photos that help her remember the events. I am consolidating this into a compilation that I can build upon.

For four years I have written holiday stories that I sent to my friends. This past year I have been consolidating them into a collection. I have been reformatting them and editing them into a book with chapters. The entire book is illustrated with my works - paintings of various mediums and sizes, pen and ink, and pencil sketches.

Regarding Acting -
"It is never about acting. It is about reacting!" - Vicki Walch
Regarding community theater -
"The reason they call it community theater is that it is about building community. Camaraderie, and being invitational is the key. Theatre is fun. Start with that." - Vicki Walch

I’m a theatrical director, creative artist, and playwright who splits my time between Woodinville, Washington and Eagle, Idaho. I’ve been directing plays for several decades and the plays I have written have debuted in Washington and Southern California. I spend time advising for community theatres and have participated as a founder, board member, and resident director. I have served as a Commissioner of the Arts for city government. I coach people for professional interviewing as well as acting. I have written professionally in the field of advertising and previously owned my own business as a resume writer. Besides writing plays, for pleasure I write poetry, short stories, and I am working on a novel. I am also a creative artist who enjoys painting, beadwork, and jewelry making. Some of my various creative endeavors are pictured on this site. Several of my pieces have been donated in auction to raise funds for the arts.
I hold a BA in Theater Arts from California Lutheran University, have taught many a drama class or workshop to theatrical artists of all ages and in various levels of experience.
I am married, have two adult children, and one grandchild.
